This past Sunday, Pastor Jeremy unpacked Ezra 6 to find three important keys that will help us persevere when life and ministry get difficult. From Ezra 6:1-5, he explained that God will eventually vindicate us from the accusations and advances of those who would stop us from pursuing God’s will. He then showed in Ezra 6:6-15 that God finishes the work he called us to do, and in Ezra 6:16-22, Pastor shared about how God ultimately redeems, bringing good things out of the challenges and bad that we face along the way. In the case of the Jews, this meant the resumption of normal worship and the realization of their calling to be a light to the nations. Pastor challenged us to embrace these promises for ourselves and our church and work toward the day when we will be vindicated, finished, and redeemed.
Also on Sunday, Pastor shared that the bank has finally cleared the way for the church to open accounts, and he hopes to have information about how people will be able to give starting September 7. He then invited the congregation to a pot-luck BBQ at his house Tuesday at 6p. The address is 3429 54th St.
This coming Sunday, we will continue our series from Ezra, moving further into “the rest of the story” in Ezra 7-8 to see how God strengthened those who were faithful.
