NFC has launched in-person services, but that does not mean the relaunch process is complete! In fact, it is just beginning. In church planting language, we have entered what is called the “soft launch” phase. In this phase, we are holding in-person services and inviting people to join us, but the focus is on learning, growing, building systems, getting the word out, and ironing out kinks before we host an official Grand Opening, probably in January.
So how can you help? There are four main ways you can help during this phase:
- Pray. Pray for our launch team. This includes everyone who is part of New Foundation Church. Specifically, pray that we will grow spiritually and in boldness to share our faith with those around us. Pray also for the people we know who do not know Jesus yet. Ask the Holy Spirit to draw them to himself and make them receptive to the good news of Jesus.
- Participate. More specifically, we need you to attend services and give financially to support the startup process. When you attend services, we all grow together, and momentum is multiplies.
- Volunteer. Between now and Christmas, we need to develop two groups of volunteers. The first will focus on hospitality. Members of this team will greet people as they arrive for services, help them find where they are going (e.g., to the bathrooms), and answer any questions they may have. The second will focus children. For English service, this will include developing and maintaining “busy bags” with a variety of activities for kids to do while in the service. For Swahili service, because there are more kids, it will entail preparing lessons, activities, and a snack.
- Share. Help us get out the word about New Foundation Church. If you know people who are already committed Christians, invite them to become part of our launch team. If you know people who are not yet following Jesus, start laying the groundwork now so you can invite them to our Grand Opening in January! What does that look like? Check out our +1 Initiative for some ideas!
