It has been a momentous week at New Foundation Church! Our Winter Gear Drive reached its climax. On Monday, we delivered 15 coats to Hoover High School, and on Wednesday, we dropped off 39 coats, 59 hats, 14 pairs of gloves, 6 scarves, 4 pairs of boats (and 1 pair of tennis shoes), and a pair of snowpants to Samuelson Elementary! These will be distributed to families in our community. Praise God!

If you missed it this past Sunday, we have a new flag outside our primary entrance! This flag will help our guests find their way to our meetings. Indeed, in the last few weeks, we have seen new faces in each of our services! God is up to something good in our midst!

Even though this is the third Sunday of the month, we will hold services at the normal times: 9:00 am for English language and 12:00 pm for Swahili service.

With the New Year rapidly approaching, many people will be considering making New Years Resolutions. This year, we want to submit for your consideration two resolutions:

  1. The One-Hour Challenge is a commitment to spend an extra hour per week in personal Bible study and prayer. That amounts to about 8.5 minutes per day, or four sessions of 15 minutes each. Most of us spend more time in the bathroom. What will you do during this time? If you have never read the Bible before, we would suggest starting with the gospel of Mark. And if you have never prayed before, it really is as simple as talking to God. Share with him what excites you, irritates you, or even scares you. If all else fails, just tell him about your day!
  2. The +1 Initiative is all about sharing the gospel with the people we know who do not yet know Jesus. Pray for them, by name, daily. Engage them in some meaningful way at least once per week. As often as possible, invite them to follow Jesus and join you at church! It really is that simple!
