Continuing in a sermon series about the most basic beliefs of the Christian faith, Pastor Jeremy taught from Colossians 1:15-23 about the one and only solution to the sin problem: Jesus Christ. Christ, we learned, is the penultimate revelation of God in that he actually is God come as one of us. Therefore, the best and only way to know God is to know Jesus, which can be done today through Scripture and prayer. Christ is also the penultimate solution for sin, having paid the penalty for our guilt and covered our shame through his death on the cross. And Chirst is the penultimate hope for reconciliation, making it possible for our relationship with God to be restored and us to be transformed until we are holy, faultless, and blameless. We must, therefore, place our faith in Jesus alone to receive this solution and reconciliation and remain grounded and steadfast in the gospel’s hope.
